STC #4 - Sunday June 18 - Father's Day!
« on: June 14, 2017, 01:35:07 PM »
So I posted the event to Facebook saying some business about commemorating the Pens Stanley Cup win - and totally forgot to mention anything about Father's Day. That is not any indication that I forgot to get my dad a gift and card - because I did get him stuff. I'm a good son. I'm so good of a son that I'll be spending Father's Day at PittRace.

Anyway, reg up:

Would have been great if the torrential rain held off another 15 minutes...oh well, it's only H2O. I know I'll be oiling everything in my toolbox tomorrow though.

At least I was able to test my new Conti ExtremeContact Sports up to 80mph in the rain. Only one shudder over a "stream" and never any assistance from the nannies.

video of my best run, which i really thought i coned, i know i hit it but must have stayed upright. still had some time out there, im sure some tires that arent 4 years old would help out too and another 300hp. fun course it was open enough that it allowed room to make some choices and challenging enough that it took some patience to find the ideal line.

Anyone need a reminder of why cutting distance is important?

Edit: SoloStorm goofed a bit on my first run of the day, so run 4 was actually run 5, run 5 was actually run 6 (my fastest).

Tentative results are posted:  http://stcsolo.com/standings/

These are subject to change on final auditing - feel free to let me know of any corrections that are required.

Ok, now I'm kicking myself because that extra 22 feet cost me a 2nd place in PAX  >:(

I thought you were wide in the carousel too in which cutting distance probably would have saved you - but then again, you PAX'd me and I was raw-timed by a DS WRX - so what the heck do I know? Haha.

Great driving Chris and Dan!

Oh, yeah, I was waaaay wide in the carousel all day.  From my perspective in the car, it always looked like I was right on the cones, but the video doesn't lie.  In fact, most of that run I was a good bit off of the cones.  That's sort of why I'm shocked that run was that quick.

Pretty sure that if I would have had unlimited runs, I would not have gotten down to a 42.8.   :o
Wicked fun course.  Really easy to overdrive it.  Smoking run Chris.

Nothing like finishing second by 1.1 seconds.  Ouch.   :(
Well, it isn't the car.  Must drive better.  Chris, can I borrow some of your talent.  I seem to be all out.
