Update:

1) I did get in touch with the mysterious CMK. Evidently, his Miata suffered some sort of cooling system problems at a track event earlier in the year and he's not sure if it is driveable right now.

2) I'm not going to make this event - just have too much other crap going on and I waited until the last minute to make plans. Barring some sort of apocalypse, I will be at the August 20th event.

3) If anyone can put me in touch with the Shanks, I'd appreciate it. I'd be interested in driving that green car that Rich still owns.

4) If that falls through, I'll pay someone's entry fee for the opportunity to drive their car (someone above offered me a Subaru ride, that would be cool.) Anyone except Manfred, of course, because we all know how expensive a co-drive with that guy can be *grin*

Have a good weekend!

I messaged Rick(y) on Facebook, to have his dad report to this thread.

Ok, he said his dad doesn't post on RacePA, and also that he isn't racing this year. Sorry!

Lol, I guess that works the same.

If I did this, it would allow me to get a proper heat cycle in with my new front tires.  I'd have the lunch break to swap the fronts from my new Contis to my 'stones, then swap them back after the event is over.

The Subaru ride was actually for the Fiesta ST, haha. But it's already spoken for on the 20th.

I'm not so interested in the party car, but I can help with scrubbing in your new front tires.  I miss driving a car with more hp than grip!

And here's my really half-assed runs:

Thanks again, to Alex for letting me FiST the course in the morning.  It let me get a legit heat cycle in my brand new Bridgestones, so it was much appreciated.

Thanks for helping me test pressures on it. It seems like the car really likes higher pressures. 3rd in PAX (I think - final results aren't out yet) on Saturday and ended up 2nd in PAX by a fairly wide margin in Akron on Sunday. Yay tiny cars.

Also, I found out these things actually only have 180hp. They're rated at 197 in "overboost" mode which occurs only in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th gears.

The car needs less grip in the rear, or at least something to prevent the death wobble mid-sweeper I was feeling.

Rear Konis just went on today. Still waiting for the sway bar to show up.  :-\

That death wobble you were feeling was the back of the car coming off the ground. That does all sorts of things, like causing the loaded rear tire to slide for a moment until the car settles back down, only to lift up again once it catches itself and repeat.

I ended up upping the pressures to 44 square on Sunday. Surface at Dragway 42 was muuuch grippier (surprisingly so) and even at 44 PSI I was getting rollover in the front (not so much in the rear, but needed to keep it high to help with rotation).

I'd hate to run higher than 44 PSI on the damn thing in front. I'm hoping the Konis will help reduce some of the rear body roll which is causing lifting. If I can stop the rear from lifting so easily, I'm thinking it should help take some of the load off the front tire which should help with my tire rollover issues.

Ah, it still doesn't have shocks and a bar.  Gotcha.  And yes, I did realize the death wobble was the rear inside tire bouncing up and down.  I would have had a lot more confidence in the car and more confidence in going faster if that was at least steady through the whole turn.

Results are up!  http://stcsolo.com/standings/

Bonus 'with drops' content just for RacePA folks  ;)   http://stcsolo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/2017-STC-SCCA-Event7-Championship-PAX-Points-WithDrops.pdf

Sorry to miss all the FSAE cars and Ted's first PAX win of the year, but Oscoda was a worthwhile experience.  :) 8)

As always, please let me know if any corrections are needed.
