Heck yeah it is.

I'm in HS on Saturday in the FiST. Open to co-drives (me offering the FiST on Saturday and open to drive something else Sunday if anyone's willing).

Course was a lot of fun today. And Walts car is just as much fun as I had remembered.

You were screaming out there today. Nice job on FTD.

I'll be in the WRX tomorrow. Here's what today looked like (1st in PAX).

Didn't have a lot of fun on Saturday.  I think my Miata was a bit down on power due to heat and I couldn't take a proper line out of the shed corner to save my life.  Here was my fastest raw run which was somewhat approaching respectable:

Sunday was a lot better.  I actually got some sleep the night before and I actually drove the car well.  I played around with where I was shifting a bit, with my first run being almost entirely done in first gear, but ultimately my best times were shifting to second right after I went though the second crossover for the first time.  Not sure if I was repeating a mistake, or just driving consistently, but my 4 fastest times are all within a tenth of each other.  I also think I was driving with a Mustang width mindset on my best run.  I don't think the distance I would have saved would have got me the half second I needed to catch Ted, but it didn't help:

I need to fix my driving. I did fine in my own cars (1st in PAX Saturday and 2nd in PAX Sunday), but I was awful driving other cars.

  • I was about a mile from every cone driving Shawn's C4 Corvette (which I didn't spin, yay!).
  • I took the wrong lines (at first) in Scott's NB Miata. I was driving it like the FiST (short distance, pinch turns, use TQ to dig out) - only there's no TQ. Shortest line was not the fastest line.
  • I drove Dan's Miata the same way (which is even worse since I did it in Scott's car the day before) - shortest line was not the fastest line.
  • The F-Mod car had the power to dig, but not the turning radius. Plus it didn't help the steering wheel was literally right on my gentleman vegetables. I'm just surprised I fit in the thing.

I need moar git guds.

I actually think the Fit would be really good at PittRace where it didn't have to deal with as much off camber stuff (though I don't see me bringing it out again haha).  The shed turn was destroying me I couldn't get the car to hang that right hander after the 6 pack for the life of me.  Sucked because everywhere else it was casing a shadow over cones it was really easy to position when you're going that slow haha.

Thanks for the pics Dan!
