This spring i am buying a truck because it seems to be more pratical...pretty sure its going to be a nissan frontier but anyways....

I am going to have some extra $$ and i want to buy a car that i can rally with. So my question is, whats a car i can get for 1) cheap and 2) can be modded for cheap? I plan on just coming to the events with the car towed. A 1G DSM maybe? Older volkswagon? Let me know guys

Yugo?

Actually...  I've always thought that a 1988 chevy turbo sprint would be perfect for that stuff...  uber light, 3 cyl, 5 speed, and suprising power for a 43 mpg (highway) vehicle.  And there are places where they just gather like an elephant graveyard..  You could probably pickup 3 or 4 donor cars on the cheap...  :)

Oh, also:  This is a Suzuki Swift rebadged - firefly I think?  so there should be parts out there...  somewhere.

oh, also: stripped they should be about 1450 -1500 lbs...  and factory lists the stock turbo engine with 70hp @5100rpm / 107 ft.lbs @3500 rpm ...  people talk about 120-140 hp being quite possible.
