fastlap:
For all of you who would like to know more about Hillclimbing, here are the events that we run that are part of the Pennsylvania Hillclimb Association (PHA) series:
Jefferson (Summit Point, WV - run each Memorial and Labor day weekends)
Typically, we run Jefferson in the clockwise direction in the Spring, and then counter-clockwise in the Fall. Each driver gets a partial warm-up lap, followed by 3 hot laps, and then a cool down lap. It is your fastest lap that counts.
A good look at Jefferson from Hunter's Civic -

Weatherly (near Hazelton - usually run the 2nd weekend of June)
This is most everyone's favorite hill due to the food, pits, course, and ability to spectate. We run Weatherly twice each year - once in the Spring and once in the Fall. It contains the best photo op in hillclimbing - the famous jump at turn 5.

Hunter in the Civic -
Pagoda hillclimb 6/28/09
Giants Despair (Wilkes-Barre - usually run the beginning of July)
My personal favorite due to the ability to spectate, great pits and camping, and the thousands of crazy fans that come to watch.
One of Mark Aubele's lame ass runs (he went faster later in the weekend) -
Giants Despair Hillclimb 2007
Kendrick drives a nearly perfect line for low HP cars -
Giants Despair Hillclimb 08 ITA Neon 193
Coming down Giants can give you a great perspective of just how steep this hill is -
Downhill Tour of Giants..
Rose Valley (Trout Run, PA - usually run the end of August))
The only hill that still scares me due to the crown and lack of guardrails. Turn 7 is the gut check turn, because the apex is blind and given the fact that after 10 years, I still don't think I have gotten that turn right. I always seem to leave some time there, due to being fearful of wrecking my car.
Fast MR2 Turbo -
Hillclimb race in MR2 Turbo
Polish Mountain (Flintstone, MD - usually run the beginning of August)
Turn 1 is the first left hander you see, and the last turn is right under the Rt 144 sign. This is our Steel Cties Region's only hill (for now). Many of us worked very hard to get it going, and keep it going. This is also the only hill in which 2 separate clubs (SCR and National Road Autosport) work hand in hand.
Excellent footage from Father Murphy's FProd Miata (thanks to Dan Ennis) http://wizco.net/autox/video/2009%20MurphPolish.mpg

Mark Aubele:
That actually wasn't my record run. I went two seconds faster than that. I never get the good ones on video!
fastlap:
I corrected it. BTW, what about next weekend?
Mark Aubele:
Shouldn't be a problem. Give me a call this week.
