Driver School AT PIRC April 20-22
« on: February 02, 2012, 05:18:42 PM »
Steel Cities is hosting a Double Drivers School with a Level 2 Club Trial on the North Track at BeaveRun renamed as PIRC Pittsburgh Int’l Race Complex on April 21-22, 2012.  The supplementals and entry forms are in the process of being approved and sanction obtained.  Once completed they will be posted on our website www.steelcities-scca.org and Motorsportsreg will be opened for registration.  This is a perfect opportunity to come out and complete your school or to give a club trial a try.  See you there.

Thanks Dave.  I think she'd be fine without one, but she wants the safety blanket of having someone in the car who can say "what the hell are you doing!" before something bad happens... :-)

Between the Evo school for Laura Saturday, me in the drivers school, and Laura in the TT on Sunday this is not going to be a cheap weekend.  :-)

Howdy,

Anyone have a GCR legal car that will be reliable for six hours of track time that they want to rent to me cheaply?

Just had to take it all apart.  :o

Other than the fusible link and alternator you had a reliable car that I sold you a year and a half ago.

Just busting your chops Mark. Can't be that much you need to do, its a neon and I always thought very easy to work on. Take a day or two off and get it done. If I wasn't nine hours away from you I would give you a hand.

Howdy,

Yeah, just in case anyone was reading this the wrong way... The car from Chris was fine / what he said it was.  I decided to fix/improve some stuff that annoyed me.  Now it doesn't look like I'll be done prior to the PIRC driver's school.

I suppose I could aim for 5/11-5/13 at Gingerman, but I'd just as soon do the school locally if I can find a cheap rental.  Which isn't particularly likely, I realize.  :-)  edit: That weekend sucks for conflicts too.

I may be bailing on the school due to engine issues.  I should know this week.   At this point, it blows a ton of smoke from idle all the way up.

I have, but the "fire" to do a school isn't big enough for me to shell out for a rental & risk.

I didn't forget to call you, I didn't have a chance to run the tests you asked.    I'll be calling you tonight after those are done.   I'm not totally bailing on the school yet, but if I'm the tipping point of them having it or not, I wanted them to be aware.

Howdy,

Have you considered a rental car?

I'm considering it, pending finding rentals I can find afford to pay the rental fee on / can afford to buy outright if the worst happens.

It really looks like a decent turnout.  :)

I also noticed that Luke Bittenbinder is doing the driver school? That is very cool! He was very interested in getting into racing and it  looks as if he is going for it.
