I doubt anyone would take issue with you running in SM, not that I see anything that puts you out anyway.  Can't wait to see the car out there.

roy, those blocks are okay. the cranks are shot though on both.   i was able to use the bearing form one of the engines because it still had honda's color coding on the sides. i used them for reference to measure and calculate which bearings to order. since i now have 5 engines worth of honda parts i think ill put one back together with all the parts i have laying around and do something cool like build a go kart with it or something lol! ::)

dan, THE GTO  IS GONNA BE SICK! I CANT WAIT TO SEE IT ON COURSE!  should be in SM now me thinks

Ok, thanks guys.  I wasn't totally sure it would be in SM since I've done things like the supercharger, cam swap, hardened pushrods, dual valve springs, the axle stubs, and the driveshaft...wasn't sure about the electric water pump either.  It's been a while since I've read through the rulebook :)

I should hopefully see some decent gains from the 3" and water pump from the last dyno runs.  I've seen some boosted LS engines gain around 15-20 ft-lbs across nearly the full torque curve from the electric water pump...not that the car needs more torque, lol.

I forgot I have a carbon fiber front air splitter to mount up too, just need to drill some holes in it and the bumper.  I thought about using some dzuz fasteners for a sort of quick-disconnect option on the splitter, but I'm not so sure how they would hold up to cone impacts, plus I have zero experience with those sorts of fasteners.

Edit: This blower is way too quiet though.  I may end up putting some rear cog pulleys on it, but then even at idle, they sound like a friggin jet engine  ;D

Splitter won't do you any good unless your over 48mph.  I'm also not sure dzuz fasteners have enough strength to hold it up.  Could you stand on it once fastened?

Yeah, it will be purely cosmetic, looks nice at car shows, haha.  I'll probably just take it off and on for autox events.  It's a really thin one anyway, 1/4" thick with a rounded edge.  It will barely stick out past the sport front bumper piece I have on the car.

BTW, I'm laying claim to the fastest former STU now SM car in the PGH area until you prove me otherwise, so bring it goat boy.  ;)

Seriously, hope you make it to a few events this year.  :)

Actually isn't Dan's motor over the size for how big of a motor you can put forced induction on?  Which bumps it to SSM?  I'm not 100% sure, it really doesn't change anything other than putting your GTO against a few supercharged Miata's lol.  Seriously though I've been following Dan's car on facebook.  I would kill to take most any car and be able to do pratically anything I wanted to it like he has.   8)  Now.............about that rear tire width  ;D

Looks like some fun for everyone!

I bought my first car purchase of the year. I decided to go check out Pegasus auto racing supply and I came home with a OMP fire suppression system. I've been meaning to get this for a while now so, I'm happy to have that part checked off my list.

I hope the gods of forced induction strike you down with painful amounts of lag!  ;D
