Awesome to hear. Not often NEW places become available these days.

Hope ot make it out to a couple this year. Rocky Hollow is a haul from Irwin. Shame no G/J airport this season.

Yeah, and according to the maps... it's not too bad a drive for me. It's allot closer to me than Rocky Hollow.

I look forward to that... it's looking like a nice paved area.

Wow, I went to an autocross at a speedway with a very similar layout in SC.
Here's a video of it

to get an idea of how they used the space.

I apologize for the camera work and my driving.  That was early on in my autocross and filming autocross days.

Just to let everyone know those parking stalls are not for cars they are for tractor trailers if that gives you an idea of how big it is. It should be fun we can't wait to run there.

Only using the infield. Track is off limits unless we use it for paddock, grid, return road or something.

The infield is about 700' +/- Long and about 275' +/- Wide we should be able to pull off solid 60 + Second runs with no trouble.

Howdy,

Looks like a good site.  What kinda condition is the infield asphalt in?

My unasked for advice... A 60 second course on a lot that size is either going to need a lot of looping back through the course again, or its going to be painful.  Make it a nice course that's 40 seconds or so long and I bet everyone is happier.

I disagree. Their attendance is such that I think a 60 second course with a loop is a fine idea. I've been on plenty of decent looped courses on smaller lots. Just not with the SCR. I was on one lot so small that even with a 2nd "lap" the times were generally <30 secs.

This reminds me of when the Allegheny Region PCA had a couple autocrosses at the old  Heidelberg Raceway.  We ran on the oval there.  Back around 1973-1974?
