Unless your squeezing some massive meat under that GTI, your actually looking at 8.71 lbs/hp  ;D

If you run tires 275 and smaller, you may add 0.4 to the Weight/Wheel Horsepower ratio.

It actually sounds like the Miata would fit pretty well into TT-3... once I adequately tighten the nut behind the wheel I might give it a shot.

EDIT: I just realized NARRA is based in my home town (Gainesville, FL). Weird! I wonder why I've never heard of them. There aren't ANY tracks near there except for Jennings, which is motorcycles only.

Yup and here is some more footage and an interview with the driver.

Wow, glad he was ok.  That looked like one hell of a ride. :o

Will, keep in mind that tires are unlimited. So you can run non DOT slicks also without any penalty.

I would say that from what i have seen and researched so far that NASA is probably the highest and best run TT program around. There may be some elite series for the shop teams that might be a bit more competitive but i'd still put NASA up there with the quality of people and cars that you will run with. And if you have experience like you guys do, then its really not all that hard to get what you need to be able to run with them.

One more thing about the weekend that was almost unbelievable. My wife came up to the track on mothers day with the kids and had a blast.  :o. It really is a nice facility with a decent food/ice cream stand plenty of open area to go check stuff out. She watched one of the session and was questioning if this was wheel to wheel racing or TT's like she is use to me doing. Mind you she dated a guy that use to race formula cars in florida and was at the track alot. She said that he was one of the guys that would not let the slower cars pass. And she remember's frequent bad confrontations with other racers. lol

Here is some video of the first session on Sunday. I do get a little frustrated on the second lap that was slowed down by the viper.  :P
