Inside look at the CyberEVO

Thought this was pretty interesting:
http://www.motoiq.com/magazine_articles/id/2452/underneath-the-skin-of-the-legendary-cyberevo.aspx
It looks like (one of) the fastest time attack car in the world is somewhat
thrown together
. Not really any "unobtanium" that I can see, and plenty of mediocre (and even poor) craftsmanship in some places. Gives us little guys some hope

Cool article Will! I was reading a bit about the Sierra Sierra EVO that's the main competition to this car. They were saying how it was built using brute power to get the job done. Where as the Cyber Evo went for lightness. Different approaches, but very similar outcomes.
But yea that roll cage, if you wanna call it that
Especially for the sheer speed that car is capable of and there isn't a single crossbar in it?

Haha, yea that cage its nuts/stupid.
Speaking of the Sierra Sierra EVO, I was reading an article about all the persistent problems they where having with turbo-manifold bolts stretching/breaking... which is funny because the turbo miata community, which is just a bunch of avg. joe's, figured out years ago to use rolled inconel studs to prevent that exact problem... yet the nearly unlimited budget top tier racing team couldn't figure it out for months

The unobtainable is Tarzan. Guy has balls of steel.
Some good stuff from 2010.

Nice link Will, good read. Just goes to show that bling doesn't mean very much....
Still though, a fair part of the cars success is the fact that Tarzan wheelbarrows his balls around. That guys makes Aubeles lack of fear look like completely rational!
