That is such a fun event, the LES track is ideal for some fast AutoX courses...wish I could be there!

I escaped and went to this event.

Misery Bay does the most they can with the layout of the course.  Very different trying to look ahead out of the top of your windshield because you are on the banking.  Very fun event except for the traffic jam on 79 south on the way home.  I left before the results were posted so I don't even know where I finished.  I wish I had an audio recording of Jay Gyger's GT3  in the bowl of the race way.  It was awesome!

I attempted to make this event and unfortunately this happened....

Just put an overdrive trans in the '64 and apparently it didn't like an extended 80mph cruise.

Howdy,

Damn Mark, that sucks.  Any related damage other than what looks to be a new exhaust system being needed?

Of the top 11, 5 were SCR members in PAX.  Misery Bay puts all of its street tire cars in one class which is why I finished 4th.  I was  the fastest CS car there.

Seat time, seat time, seat time = driving better.   ;D

Not really, I got very lucky.  Getting a much stronger D/S made and it only really destroyed the mufflers and a couple hangers.

It was fun to drive for sure! That was my first time running there and I'd like to go back again some time.  Here's a vid from my best run which ended up being FTD.

It was a bit of a weird day at the start but turned out awesome in the end.  Aubele was going to co-drive with me till two things happened.  One was the picture he posted above.  But the other was the civic deciding it no longer wanted to shift gears.  So HUGE thanks to Jay for providing a backup car lol.  I'll be honest when we got there the idea of driving around around inside a bowl with walls in a car worth a decent bit of change wasn't my idea of a good time.  But really the GT3 was having a banner day it just loved the surface there and we both had a lot of confidence in it NOT killing us by the end of the day.  Even funnier was I think there wasn't a single run it took where there wasn't someone in the passenger seat.  Me & Jay rode with each other a few times to break down our driving, but near the end of the day we were just playing taxi service for random people so that was fun.  Very friendly & laid back group there and driving on banking is entertaining as hell  :)  Few of us might try to sneak up there again later this year.  Props to Tim he really flew out there and got some sweet glass hardware as a result haha.  As Joe said it was a good away game!
